About The Program
The IoT Engineer Apprenticeship Program prepares aspiring engineers to develop connected devices that collect, communicate, and exchange data.
Behind every smart device is a combination of electronics, embedded systems, communication protocols, and data processing technologies. IoT engineers bring these elements together to create connected solutions for industries such as automation, smart devices, and industrial applications.
Through hands-on training, participants will learn how embedded devices communicate and transform collected data into meaningful applications.
Program Structure
The programme consists of 1 month of intensive technical training followed by 3 months of On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company.
During the training phase at ASEM, Cyberjaya, you will gain practical exposure to:
Device & Hardware Foundation- Electronics Instrumentation and Measurement
- Signal Conditioning Fundamentals
- PCB Design and Routing
Embedded Device Development- C Programming for Engineers
- Embedded C Workshop
- Embedded System Fundamentals
Connectivity & Communication- Linux Command Line Environment
- Bluetooth Low Energy Communication with Embedded Linux
- IoT Communication Protocols and Data Formats
Data & Application Layer- Data Storage and Access with MySQL and PHP
- Developing Realtime Interactive Webpages
During the OJT phase, you will work alongside experienced engineers, applying your technical knowledge to real development projects while gaining valuable industry experience.
Responsibilities
As an IoT Engineer Apprentice, you will:
- Support development of connected embedded devices.
- Assist in configuring communication between devices and systems.
- Work with sensors, communication modules, and embedded platforms.
- Support IoT data collection and system integration.
- Assist in troubleshooting connectivity and device issues.
- Contribute to improving IoT solutions and applications.

- Hold or are pursuing a Diploma, Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- Have basic knowledge of C Programming and Linux fundamentals.

- Are eager to learn through hands-on projects and industry-oriented training.
- Able to commit to the full training and OJT duration
