Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Draftsman to join our marine design team. In this role, you will assist in preparing technical drawings and 3D models for marine projects, including vessels, structures, and equipment. You will work closely with Naval Architects, Designers, and the production team to ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and ready for fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing 2D technical drawings and 3D models using Rhino 3D based on instructions from the Naval Architect or Senior Designer.
• Convert sketches, concepts, and design information into clear and accurate drawings.
• Assist in preparing production drawings for vessel structures, piping systems, mechanical parts, and equipment.
• Revise and update drawings based on project changes, design reviews, or production feedback.
• Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards and project requirements.
• Work closely with the Naval Architect, Designers, and production team to support project execution.
• Maintain drawing files, revision records, and project documentation.
• Assist in resolving drawing-related issues during fabrication and installation.
• Visit the workshop or shipyard to verify dimensions and take measurements when required.
• Support the design team in meeting project deadlines and production schedules.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1–2 years of drafting experience will have an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Rhino 3D or similar 3D CAD software.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and engineering sketches.
• Basic understanding of fabrication processes and engineering drawings is an advantage.
• Willing to learn and develop drafting and marine design skills.
• Good attention to detail with strong accuracy in preparing drawings.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience or exposure to the marine, shipbuilding, or manufacturing industry is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with marine standards, production drawings, or CNC drawings is an added advantage.
• Creative, proactive, and willing to learn with good problem-solving skills.
• Must possess own transport.

Pay: From RM2,500.00 per hour
