JR Naval Architect

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Naval Architect to join our growing team. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience who are passionate about vessel design and shipbuilding. You will work closely with experienced Naval Architects and the production team to support the design, development, and construction of aluminium and steel vessels.

Requirements

• Fair experience in a Naval Architecture environment
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of Rhino 3D or other 3D CAD software.
• Basic understanding of Maxsurf (Modeler, Stability, and Resistance)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and engineering practices.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Detail-oriented with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Possess own transport is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior Naval Architects in the design and development of aluminium and steel vessels.
• Prepare and update 3D vessel models using Rhino 3D or other approved design software.
• Assist in producing General Arrangement (GA) drawings, construction drawings, and technical documentation.
• Support stability calculations, hydrostatic analysis, and performance studies under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Prepare high-quality 3D renderings using KeyShot or similar software for project presentations and client reviews.
• Coordinate with production, mechanical, procurement, and other departments to ensure designs are practical and meet project requirements.
• Assist in preparing technical documents and submissions to classification societies and regulatory authorities.
• Participate in vessel inspections, sea trials, and project meetings when required.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Team Leader or Management.

Key Skills

• Basic knowledge of naval architecture principles and shipbuilding practices.
• Proficiency in Rhino 3D or similar CAD software.
• Familiarity with Maxsurf and KeyShot is an advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Able to manage assigned tasks and meet project deadlines.

Pay: From RM2,500.00 per month
