About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our operations team in Sabah. This is a critical position within our Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics operations, where you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The Mechanic plays a vital role in supporting our production objectives and ensuring that all mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently. This position is based on-site in Sabah.

What you'll be doing

  • Performing routine maintenance and inspections on machinery and mechanical equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and defects using appropriate testing equipment and tools
  • Repairing and replacing damaged or worn components, parts and mechanical systems
  • Assembling, disassembling and reassembling mechanical equipment as required
  • Maintaining detailed maintenance records and documentation of all work performed
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices when working with machinery and equipment
  • Collaborating with production teams to minimise equipment downtime and maintain production schedules
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of equipment and machinery
  • Using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment in daily work

    • What we're looking for

  • Relevant mechanical qualifications or certification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience working as a Mechanic in a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Strong proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools and mechanical diagnostic equipment
  • Solid understanding of mechanical principles, systems and machinery operation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and maintenance manuals
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing equipment
  • Strong commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
