Tanggungjawab

Fintonia Group is building a tech-enabled digital assets financial services platform, with offices in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, combining a strong background in traditional finance with disruptive technology.

You will be joining a fun and fast-paced environment and will be working with a small team of seasoned industry professionals with experience working at top tier global investment banks and industry leaders.

The Role:

The Finance Manager will support the Director of Finance in managing day-to-day financial operations across Fintonia Group, based in Kuala Lumpur. This role is hands-on and cross-functional, covering fund accounting oversight, management reporting, tax and regulatory compliance coordination, and process/controls development across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. This role offers the opportunity to directly contribute to building a business and to grow into a leadership position in a fast-growing asset class.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead and manage the Finance and Accounts Department, covering finance, accounting, financial reporting, fund accounting, reconciliation, financial control, and regulatory reporting functions.
  • Supervise, guide, and develop finance team members, ensuring high standards of performance, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, controls, and operational efficiency, including through AI adoption and automation.

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

  • Lead and oversee month-end financial closing activities and the timely, accurate preparation of monthly management accounts and quarterly/annual financial statements, at both the entity and fund level.
  • Review and sign off on fund-level financial statements and NAV-related reporting prepared by fund administrators, and oversee consolidated financial statements across subsidiaries, ensuring consistent accounting policies and elimination of intercompany balances and transactions.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly financial variance analysis to support management review and decision-making.

Financial Control & Compliance

  • Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls across key accounts — including cash and bank balances, receivables and payables, accruals and prepayments, intercompany balances, and investments, securities, client and fund assets — ensuring all accounting records, ledgers, and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
  • Develop and maintain finance policies and procedures in compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Treasury, Cash Flow & Capital Management

  • Oversee Group cash flow planning and liquidity management.
  • Monitor funding requirements and working capital across subsidiaries.

Business Partnering

  • Provide commercial and strategic financial insights to support decision-making, including evaluating profitability by business segment, product line, and operating unit.
  • Support business expansion, investment evaluation, and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Work closely with operational teams to improve financial performance and efficiency, ensuring synergy between Finance and Operations.

Audit, Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Own the end-to-end statutory audit process across Group entities and funds, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors to ensure timely sign-off ahead of statutory deadlines, and provide audit updates to the Director of Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate tax, indirect taxes (GST, SST, withholding tax), and transfer pricing requirements; review tax planning opportunities, manage tax risks, and keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion preparation and completion of regulatory submissions, driving liaison with tax agents to ensure all statutory filings are completed ahead of deadlines; liaise with the Company Secretary on all company secretarial matters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6 – 9 years of experience across the full spectrum of finance, preferably in financial services or asset management; experience in fund accounting and/or an audit background is a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to Malaysia and Singapore tax matters is preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial consolidation and reporting for multiple entities.
  • Experience managing a small team of junior finance members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a drive for continuous improvement and genuine interest in adopting and championing AI-enabled finance tools and automation to improve workflows, accuracy, and team productivity.
  • Resourceful, able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, with strong attention to accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced fintech environment, with the flexibility and responsiveness to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high productivity.
