About the Opportunity

We are representing a well-capitalized industrial group establishing a significant international trading presence in Singapore. In preparation for the upcoming commercialization of a major regional asset production project, we are headhunting a high-caliber trader to design, build, and lead the global commercial desk.

This is a pure physical trading mandate requiring strong entrepreneurial drive. You will operate as the foundation hire for the desk, spending the first 2-3 years establishing international supplier networks and customer portfolios from scratch. As the asset volume comes online, you will take the reins to scale, recruit and lead the international trading organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial Execution: Formulate and drive the international physical trading strategy, executing end-to-end transactions, arbitrage positions, and contract negotiations.
• Product Focus: Develop global market channels with a heavy emphasis on Polyethylene (PE) portfolios
• Network & Supply Chain Setup: Establish new, sustainable sales channels and customer networks ahead of asset commissioning, aligning closely with regional shipping and logistics.
• Risk & Governance: Manage day-to-day transaction execution, credit lines, payment structures, and counterparty risk profiles.
• Desk Leadership: Map out the organizational structure to recruit and mentor a high-performing international trading team as the commercial book scales.

Requirements

• Experience: At least 5 years of physical trading experience within the petrochemical, polymer, or broader plastic resin sectors
• Market Track Record: An active commercial book or proven relationships with major global regional converters, film extruders, and piping industrial manufacturers.
• Mindset: Self-driven individual contributor capable of operating autonomously to build a trading desk from the ground up.
