Applications are invited for the vacant position of Ramp Services Operator (LCC3) with 19 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force at RMAF Base Butterworth, Penang with a starting salary of RM 5387.00 per month.

Basic duties:

The MOV LEC provides integrated logistics and aviation support to 19SQN through the delivery of Air Terminal Operations (ATO), Ground Movements and Aircraft Refuelling (AvR). The position combines multiple specialist functions into a single role and is critical to supporting Five Power Defence Arrangement (FPDA) exercises, deployed operations and routine base activities. The role requires a high level of technical competence, regulatory compliance, safety awareness and operational flexibility to ensure the safe and efficient movement of personnel, cargo, vehicles and aircraft.

Tasks of the Ramp Services Operator are to:

Air Terminal Services (ATO)

• Load & Unload ADF & foreign military aircraft,
• Ramp services in support of ADF & foreign military aircraft,
• Prepare, process cargo documentation in accordance with (IAW) ADF Policy,
• Pack and accept Dangerous Goods to IATA/ICAO standards,
• Operate licensed material handling equipment (MHE) to load/unload passengers and cargo safely,
• Perform NTDC duties IAW ADF Policy and maintain currency &
• Complete Air Movements documentation, load calculations and passenger processing accurately.

Aircraft Refuelling (AvR)

• Conduct aircraft refuelling and defuelling IAW approved safe working procedures,
• Perform daily/weekly inspections of refuellers and fuel systems; maintain vehicle readiness and report faults immediately,
• Conduct Fuel Quality Control (FQC) &
• Operate refuelling vehicles on and off base.

Ground Movements Support

• Operate heavy vehicles IAW the Land Vehicle Operating Manual (LVOM); conduct daily inspections and report/coordinate repairs,
• Prepare, secure and document loads (including DG) for road transport,
• Provide ambulance and VIP driving as required; support base driving and personnel transport tasks, &
• Maintain vehicle serviceability, cleanliness and logbooks.

Compliance & Governance

• Comply with Defence policies, Standing Instructions, Work, Health & Safety (WHS) and Operational Security (OPSEC) requirements,
• Maintain accurate operational logs, manifests and all required documentation,
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, equipment faults and flight line/building defects; raise maintenance requests and follow escalation procedures &
• Apply aviation safety principles and risk controls in all tasks.

Essential requirements:

• Hold or be eligible to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance,
• Hold valid Malaysian Heavy Vehicle (Class E/Bersendi), Forklift, Goods Vehicle and Passenger Vehicle licences,
• Meet medical and police vetting requirements,
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to a good standard in written and spoken English,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic record management systems,
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment,
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, professionalism and customer service &
• Willingness to adhere to organisation values and policies.

Desirable requirements:

• Previous experience in aviation, logistics, cargo operations or aircraft refuelling,
• Experience handling Dangerous Goods,
• Experience operating Material Handling Equipment,
• Experience supporting military or government operations.
