About Arki
Arki Finance is a Singapore-based fintech company building a hyperpersonalized wealth management platform for affluent and mass affluent clients. We combine investment management, goal-based planning, technology, and behavioral insights to help clients manage their wealth by time horizon, purpose, and life goals.
As we scale our regulated wealth management platform, we are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to build and strengthen our finance operations, reporting, controls, and governance infrastructure.
Role Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day finance function of Arki Finance, including accounting operations, management reporting, budgeting, cashflow management, audit coordination, regulatory finance support, and internal financial controls.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is comfortable operating in a fast-growing startup environment while maintaining the discipline, accuracy, and control standards expected of a regulated financial institution.
The Finance Manager will work closely with the CEO, COO, Compliance team, external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, company secretary, and fractional CFO. Over time, this role may evolve into a broader finance leadership position as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting and Financial Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the company.
- Manage the monthly closing process, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and management accounts.
- Ensure accurate recording of revenue, expenses, vendor payments, payroll, reimbursements, and intercompany transactions where applicable.
- Review bookkeeping work performed by internal or outsourced accounting support.
- Maintain proper documentation of accounting records, supporting schedules, invoices, contracts, and approvals.
- Ensure finance processes are efficient, scalable, and properly controlled.
2. Management Reporting and Business Performance
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for management review.
- Track budget versus actuals, burn rate, runway, cash position, revenue, operating expenses, and key business metrics.
- Support financial analysis on AUM, revenue yield, client economics, servicing costs, product profitability, and growth initiatives.
- Assist in preparing board and investor reporting materials.
- Develop dashboards and reporting templates to improve visibility over company performance.
- Support scenario planning, forecasting, and financial modelling alongside the CEO and fractional CFO.
3. Budgeting, Forecasting and Cashflow Management
- Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor cashflow, runway, working capital, and funding requirements.
- Track hiring plans, vendor commitments, technology costs, regulatory costs, and other operating expenses.
- Provide timely alerts on budget variances, cashflow risks, and upcoming financial obligations.
- Assist with use-of-proceeds tracking for fundraising and investor reporting.
4. Regulatory Finance and Governance Support
- Support regulatory capital monitoring and finance-related regulatory reporting requirements.
- Work with Compliance and Operations to ensure finance processes align with regulatory expectations.
- Assist in preparing for audits, regulatory inspections, and MAS-related reviews where finance input is required.
- Maintain proper finance policies, approval workflows, payment controls, and segregation of duties.
- Support the development and implementation of Arki’s financial control framework.
- Ensure appropriate controls over revenue recognition, expense approvals, vendor payments, reconciliations, and financial records.
5. Audit, Tax and Statutory Compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and audit readiness.
- Liaise with tax agents on corporate tax, GST where applicable, and other tax matters.
- Work with the company secretary on statutory filings and finance-related corporate matters.
- Ensure timely completion of annual financial statements, tax filings, and statutory obligations.
- Maintain audit schedules, supporting documents, and financial records in an organised manner.
6. Vendor, Payment and Expense Controls
- Manage vendor invoice processing, payment preparation, and expense reimbursement workflows.
- Ensure all payments are properly documented, approved, and recorded.
- Maintain vendor records, payment schedules, and contract-related financial obligations.
- Support implementation of expense policies, procurement controls, and approval matrices.
- Coordinate with banks, payment platforms, payroll providers, and other finance-related service providers.
7. Fundraising and Strategic Finance Support
- Support the CEO and fractional CFO in fundraising preparation and investor due diligence.
- Maintain accurate financial data rooms, financial models, historical financials, forecasts, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with investor queries relating to financial performance, cash runway, cost structure, and revenue model.
- Support analysis of pricing models, partnership economics, and new business initiatives.
- Help build institutional-quality finance materials as Arki prepares for future fundraising rounds.
Requirements
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant finance, accounting, audit, or controllership experience.
- Prior experience in financial services, fintech, asset management, wealth management, payments, or another regulated industry is preferred.
- Experience in a startup, scale-up, or high-growth company environment is a strong advantage.
- Audit background from a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm is helpful but not mandatory.
- Experience managing monthly closing, management reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, and financial controls.
- Familiarity with Singapore accounting, tax, payroll, statutory, and corporate governance requirements.
- MAS-regulated financial institution experience would be highly valued.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Comfortable with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cashflow management.
- Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and financial modelling fundamentals.
- Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Ability to build clear reporting templates, reconciliations, schedules, and management dashboards.
- Strong documentation and process discipline.
Personal Attributes
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly organised.
- Able to operate independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Commercially aware, not just accounting-focused.
- Comfortable working directly with senior management, external advisors, auditors, and regulators.
- Able to balance startup agility with the control discipline required in a regulated financial institution.
- High integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial and company information.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a practical finance operator who can both “do the work” and help build the finance function. They should be comfortable preparing reconciliations and management accounts, while also supporting board reporting, budgeting, investor materials, audit readiness, and financial controls.
This role is well suited for someone who has spent time in audit, accounting, financial services, or fintech and is now looking to take ownership of the finance function in a growing regulated startup.
