Associate – General Ledger / Reporting

Location: Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract

Salary: RM4,000 – RM7,000 per month

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate – General Ledger / Reporting to support General Ledger operations and financial reporting activities. In this role, you will be responsible for month-end closing, financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax-related activities, and maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities within established timelines.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Complete monthly financial reporting packages and support reporting requirements.
• Maintain General Ledger accounts and ensure financial data accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset accounting.
• Perform balance sheet, account, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Support Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, including Corporate Tax, GST/SST, Withholding Tax, external audits, and other regulatory submissions.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and relevant external stakeholders.
• Provide accounting guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
• Participate in finance process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support ad hoc finance projects and other accounting-related assignments.

RequirementsQualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.

Experience

• 4–6 years of experience in General Ledger or Financial Accounting.
• Experience with Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
• Hands-on experience in month-end closing and financial reporting.
• Experience with General Ledger, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Account Reconciliation, Intercompany Reconciliation, Journal Entries, Fixed Assets, Accruals, Prepayments, and Full Set of Accounts.
• Experience with GST/SST, Corporate Tax, and external audits is highly preferred.
• Experience in a Shared Services (SSC) environment is an advantage.
• Experience in the advertising or media industry will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with Malaysian statutory and tax requirements.
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems.
• Experience with Hyperion reporting is preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per hour

Experience:

• General Ledger or Financial Accounting: 4 years (Preferred)
