Job Summary
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
by washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and equipment, and supporting general kitchen sanitation
to ensure smooth food preparation and service operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Wash, sanitize, and store all dishes, glassware, cutlery, cookware, and kitchen equipment
promptly and to hygiene standards
• Operate dishwashing machines and manage manual washing where required
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing and adjacent kitchen areas, including floors, sinks,
and waste disposal points
• Sweep and mop kitchen and back-of-house floors as scheduled or as needed
• Clean front-of-house (FOH) glass doors daily to maintain a presentable customer-facing
entrance
• Perform general cleaning duties across kitchen and FOH areas as assigned, supporting
overall restaurant cleanliness standards
• Manage and rotate kitchen linens, aprons, and cleaning cloths
• Monitor and replenish dishwashing supplies (detergent, sanitizer); flag shortages to
Kitchen Manager
• Handle and dispose of kitchen waste in accordance with food safety and NEA
regulations
• Report any equipment malfunction or safety hazards immediately
• Comply with all food safety, workplace safety, and hygiene protocols
Requirements
• Prior experience in a similar role (F&B/hospitality) preferred but not essential
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, standing for extended periods
• Physically fit — able to lift moderate loads (crates, trays)
• Basic understanding of food hygiene practices; Food Safety Course Level 1 (WSQ) an
advantage, or willingness to complete upon hire
• Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, per restaurant
operating hours
