Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Engineering Review
- Provide technical guidance and engineering input for inspection activities prior to execution.
- Review inspection scopes, methodologies, and technical requirements to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Support inspectors in resolving technical issues encountered during inspection activities.
- Assist in developing technical procedures, work instructions, and inspection methodologies.
2. Inspection Report Review & Quality Assurance
- Review and verify inspection reports for technical accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission.
- Ensure inspection reports are submitted within the agreed project timeline.
- Verify that inspection findings and recommendations are technically justified and properly documented.
- Coordinate report revisions where necessary before final approval.
3. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure inspection reports comply with applicable international standards, industry codes, statutory requirements, and client lifting & inspection manuals.
- Monitor changes to relevant engineering standards and communicate updates to the inspection team.
- Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) requirements.
4. Documentation & Billing Support
- Ensure all technical documentation, inspection checklists, certificates, and supporting records are complete and properly maintained.
- Verify document control requirements are fulfilled before billing submission.
- Ensure documentation complies with company procedures and business processes.
5. Inspection Database & Digital System Development
- Provide technical input and subject matter expertise in the development and enhancement of the inspection database system.
- Collaborate with external partners, including UTHM, to ensure system requirements meet operational needs.
- Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved according to the agreed timeline.
- Support testing, validation, implementation, and continuous improvement of the inspection management system.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, reporting quality, and operational efficiency.
- Recommend improvements to inspection procedures, templates, and technical documentation.
- Participate in internal audits, client audits, and technical improvement initiatives.
7. Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with clients, inspectors, certification bodies, and internal departments on technical matters.
- Provide technical clarification during client meetings and project discussions.
- Support investigation and resolution of technical queries and non-conformance issues.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the oil & gas, lifting equipment inspection, engineering inspection, or related industry.
- Experience reviewing engineering or inspection reports is an advantage.
- Knowledge of lifting equipment inspection and certification processes is preferred.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with international inspection standards and codes (e.g. ASME, API, ISO, BS EN, LOLER, OSHA, DOSH requirements where applicable).
- Understanding of QA/QC systems and document control processes.
- Knowledge of inspection management systems and digital documentation platforms.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
