Job Description

Responsibilities

Detmold is delivering a range of transformational initiatives aligned to the strategic priorities of Care and Capability, Customer at the Core, Innovation Edge, and Continuous Improvement. Reporting to the Manager, Data and Reporting, this role supports the implementation and optimisation of technology solutions that drive business outcomes.

This hands-on role works closely with business users, subject matter experts, technology partners, and IT teams to support the adoption of new technologies, enhance existing solutions, and improve operational efficiency and performance.

This role will be based in our Puchong office located one hours drive from Kuala Lumpur CBD.

What You’ll Do

  • Build strong knowledge of industry trends, operational processes, and sector-specific terminology to provide context-driven analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Analyse complex datasets using exploratory and statistical techniques to identify key trends, relationships, and insights that support data-informed decision-making.
  • Create and present impactful reports, dashboards, and visualisations using tools such as Power BI, translating data into clear and actionable business insights.
  • Track and assess the effectiveness of business operations, projects, and initiatives through data-driven performance metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and optimisation.


Essential

What you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex datasets, identify emerging trends and patterns, and translate findings into meaningful, actionable business insights.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, supported by a solid understanding of statistical techniques, data modelling, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Advanced expertise in SQL and related technologies, including SQL Server, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), and Power BI, with proven experience in data extraction, reporting, and visual analytics.
  • Sound knowledge of data architecture principles, including data structures, database design, data lifecycle management, and data governance best practices.
  • Experience working with modern cloud-based data solutions such as Microsoft Fabric, Data Warehouses, and Data Lakes, with an understanding of their application within scalable data environments.
  • Highly developed communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and deliver innovative, business-focused solutions through both written and verbal communication.


Desirable

  • Basic understanding of high-volume manufacturing and packaging industry.
  • Basic understanding of project organisation and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and finance.
