Job Description:

We are supporting our key client in the Financial Services sector to hire an experienced Data Engineer for a 1-year contract (extendable) position.

Job Purpose
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-quality data architecture and pipelines that ensure a single source of truth, supporting sustainable, traceable, and efficient data delivery to meet business and regulatory needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
• Ensure data is sourced from authoritative systems ("golden sources") and stored according to standards
• Implement automated data quality checks and real-time monitoring
• Optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Support CI/CD practices for data pipelines
• Perform BAU data investigation, rectification, and ensure data completeness, consistency, and accuracy
• Manage technical and operational metadata, including data lineage
• Design scalable and reusable data models optimized for business accessibility
• Review and validate ETL logic to preserve referential integrity and system performance
• Contribute to data recovery, archiving strategies, and future data expansion initiatives

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in Banking or Financial Institutions
• Strong experience with data modeling (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical)
• Proficient in ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Informatica, Talend, or Airflow
• Hands-on experience with MSSQL, SAS, and Power BI
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Good understanding of banking operations, products, services, and regulatory reporting
• Knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
