Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the overall operations in cafeteria & canteen of The British International School (BSKL) while overseeing the operational performance of assigned HNF Catering outlets, including IGB International School (IGBIS) and Premfield International School. This role ensures operational excellence, food quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, compliance with company standards, and effective leadership across multiple locations. The Operations Manager also serves as the primary company representative to school management, fostering strong client relationships and ensuring service excellence.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of The British International School (BSKL) and oversee the operational performance of assigned campuses, including IGB International School (IGBIS) and Premfield International School.
- Conduct regular site visits to all assigned outlets to ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and service quality.
- Lead, coach, supervise, and develop Executive Chef, Outlet Managers, Supervisors, Chefs, and outlet teams to improve operational efficiency, staff productivity, and overall performance.
- Monitor outlet sales, profitability, food cost, labour cost, inventory levels, and operational expenses to ensure financial targets and budgets are achieved.
- Ensure consistent food quality, menu presentation, portion control, customer service standards, and operational excellence across all assigned outlets.
- Handle operational issues, customer complaints, school management requests, and service recovery promptly while implementing effective solutions to maintain client satisfaction.
- Coordinate closely with the Central Kitchen (management), Procurement, HR, Finance, Marketing, and Quality Assurance departments to ensure smooth operations, timely stock replenishment, manpower planning, and continuous business improvement.
- Prepare monthly operational reports, analyse outlet performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement action plans to enhance productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary company representative and key liaison with school management by maintaining strong professional relationships, attending meetings, communicating operational updates, addressing client concerns, and ensuring all contractual and service expectations are consistently met.
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP requirements, food safety regulations, workplace safety policies, and all company operational standards.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, staff training, succession planning, and performance evaluations to build a competent and high-performing operations team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, operational excellence, and customer-focused strategies to strengthen HNF Catering's reputation and long-term partnerships with school clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in F&B, catering, or hospitality operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience working with international schools, educational institutions, corporate catering, or contract catering is highly advantageous.
- Experience in overseeing daily outlet operations, including manpower planning, inventory management, budgeting, food cost, labour cost, and operational performance.
- Strong experience in leading, coaching, and developing managers and operational teams to achieve business objectives.
- Sound knowledge of HACCP, food safety SOP, and operational compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
- Possess a valid driving licence and own transportation with willingness to travel frequently between assigned school campuses.
