Role Description The Project Engineer role is a contract position based in Kuching with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site project activities with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting the planning, design, and execution of power engineering projects across transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and related systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards and client specifications. The role involves coordinating project schedules, monitoring progress, preparing technical documentation, and assisting in cost and resource management. The Project Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients to resolve technical issues, manage risks, and maintain safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle. Regular site visits, reporting, and participation in project meetings are expected to ensure timely and effective delivery of engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills, with experience in high- or medium-voltage systems and related infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Project Management and Project Planning, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
• Effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and clients, and prepare clear technical reports.
• Relevant academic background, such as a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment based in Kuching, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Experience with renewable energy, energy efficiency, EV charging infrastructure, or energy storage systems is an advantage.
• Professional certifications or registration with engineering bodies, and competence in relevant design and project management software, are beneficial.
