Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Procurement Executive is responsible for managing the procurement of roofing coils, battens, and related building materials to support the Company's operational and business requirements. The role is accountable for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, and maintaining supply continuity. The incumbent will also provide leadership and strategic direction to the procurement function, driving procurement excellence, cost savings, quality improvements, and supplier performance to support the Company's growth objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Procurement Planning & Sourcing

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for roofing coils, battens, and related construction materials.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation, negotiation, purchasing, and contract management.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Identify and develop alternative sources of supply to enhance competitiveness and reduce supply risks.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production, planning, and warehouse teams to optimize stock levels.

Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, performance, pricing, quality, and delivery reliability.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans where necessary.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, rebates, and long-term supply agreements.

Cost Control & Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, steel prices, raw material costs, and industry developments.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and procurement efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct spends analysis and supplier benchmarking to drive value-added procurement initiatives.
  • Ensure procurement activities are conducted within approved budgets.

Leadership & Strategic Direction

  • Provide leadership and guidance to procurement personnel and support cross-functional teams.
  • Establish procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support business growth strategies.
  • Provide procurement recommendations and market intelligence to management for strategic decision-making.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans to address supply disruptions, price fluctuations, and market uncertainties.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Support ethical sourcing and supplier compliance requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Operations, Production, Sales, Finance, and Logistics departments to align procurement activities with business needs.
  • Provide regular procurement reports, supplier performance updates, and cost-saving achievements to management.
  • Support new product development and project requirements through effective supplier engagement.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-8 years of procurement experience, preferably in roofing materials, steel products, building materials, manufacturing, or construction-related industries.
  • Proven experience in purchasing roofing coils, steel coils, battens, and related construction materials.
  • Strong experience in supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and procurement operations.
  • Experience managing local and overseas suppliers.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good understanding of roofing coil products, battens, steel materials, and related industry specifications.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Proficiency in systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
