Job Summary
The Agronomist is responsible for providing technical consultancy services related to oil palm agronomy. The role includes conducting field assessments, evaluating plantation practices, preparing technical reports, and advising clients on improving productivity, soil health, and sustainable plantation management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field assessments and agronomic evaluations at oil palm plantations.
- Provide technical recommendations on soil fertility, fertilizer management, crop nutrition, and best agronomic practices.
- Support agronomy consultancy projects, including data collection, analysis, and report preparation.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project deliverables.
- Advise clients on improving plantation productivity and sustainable management practices.
- Support sustainability and certification projects (e.g. MSPO, RSPO, ISCC) where agronomic expertise is required.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure timely completion of consultancy assignments.
- Stay updated on current agronomic practices, research, and industry developments.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, Plantation Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in palm oil and other related crops.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of oil palm cultivation and agronomic practices.
- Good analytical, report writing, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Willing to travel frequently for site visits and fieldwork.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project environment.
