Responsible for performing product inspections and quality verification activities to ensure products meet quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements throughout the manufacturing process. Support production and Quality Engineers in identifying quality issues, conducting inspections, collecting quality data, and implementing containment actions to maintain product quality. Ensure all inspection activities are carried out in accordance with approved inspection procedures, work instructions, control plans, and quality management system requirements. Perform incoming, in-process, final, outgoing, and reliability inspections to prevent nonconforming products from reaching customers. Support quality record maintenance, traceability, calibration control, audit activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), Final Quality Control (FQC), Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA), and reliability inspections according to inspection plans, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, functional, and workmanship inspections using approved measuring equipment, inspection methods, and applicable IPC standards.
- Verify product compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, Bills of Material (BOM), customer requirements, and workmanship standards.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with approved work instructions, control plans, process parameters, and quality requirements.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI), first-piece verification, production line setup validation, and production changeover inspections.
- Identify quality abnormalities during inspection activities and promptly report nonconformities to the Quality Engineer or Supervisor for corrective action.
- Support supplier quality activities by performing incoming material verification, containment inspections, and corrective action effectiveness verification as assigned.
- Assist in monitoring supplier quality performance through inspection records, defect data analysis, and supplier quality reporting.
- Support Quality Engineers in failure analysis, root cause investigations, and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring quality issues.
- Collect inspection data and prepare quality reports, defect summaries, Pareto charts, trend analysis, and other quality documentation to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and other operational excellence programs.
- Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS), customer requirements, and applicable quality standards throughout inspection activities.
- Perform inspection activities in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, IPC standards, and other applicable customer or regulatory requirements.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and certification audits by maintaining inspection records, providing objective evidence, and ensuring document readiness.
- Maintain proper housekeeping (5S), ESD discipline, calibration control, safety practices, and document control within the quality inspection area.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Certificate in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 1–3 years experience in EMS / PCBA / SMT environment
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods and measuring equipment, including Vernier Caliper, Height Gauge, Multimeter, Microscope, and other standard inspection tools.
- Basic understanding of quality management systems, quality inspection techniques, and quality tools.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards is an added advantage for electronics manufacturing.
- Basic knowledge of inspection sampling plans (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 or equivalent) is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
- Strong observation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify product defects and quality issues.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and Supplier personnel.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP/MES systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and support production activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and support urgent production requirements when necessary.
