Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Kitchen Crew member to join our team. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with our Chef de Partie and one other crew member to ensure smooth daily operations. We need a strong team player who already understands kitchen workflows, can take directions well, and is ready to collaborate closely to maintain high food quality and fast service.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Chef de Partie and fellow crew member to coordinate tasks and maintain a smooth kitchen flow.
• Food Preparation: Handle daily mise en place independently, including washing, chopping, prepping ingredients, and portioning.
• Cooking Assistance: Support the Chef de Partie during peak service hours by cooking, plating, and assembling cafe menu items to standard.
• Kitchen Upkeep: Maintain a clean, sanitary, and highly organize workstation; assist with washing equipment and closing down the kitchen.
• Inventory & Stock: Assist the team in receiving deliveries, inspecting ingredients, and organizing stock using first-in, first-out (FIFO) rules.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of continuous experience working in a cafe or restaurant kitchen.
• Teamwork Skills: Strong ability to work collaboratively, take instructions from the Chef de Partie, and support your teammates under pressure.
• Technical Skills: Confident knife skills, basic cooking knowledge, and a solid understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene.
• Certifications: Valid Food Handler Certificate (Sijil Pengendali Makanan) and typhoid vaccination are mandatory.
• Attitude: Punctual, responsible, energetic, and takes pride in food consistency.
• Availability: Must be able to work weekends, public holidays, and early morning opening shifts.
• Language: Able to communicate in basic English.
