Position Title:
Facility & Maintenance Engineering Intern (Power Control System (Electrical))
Position Overview
We are seeking Diploma or Bachelor Degree students majoring in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Power Control Systems, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related fields to join our Facility & Maintenance Department as interns. This internship provides hands-on exposure to industrial electrical systems, power distribution, machine electrical maintenance, control panels, PLC systems, automation, utilities management, and preventive maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Interns will gain practical experience in maintaining electrical infrastructure, supporting machine troubleshooting, participating in electrical improvement projects, and ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems, production machines, and facility equipment
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electrical, control, and automation-related issues
- Assist in maintaining electrical distribution systems, switchboards, MCC panels, transformers, lighting systems, and power supply equipment
- Support inspection, testing, and maintenance of motors, inverters (VFD), sensors, relays, circuit breakers, and electrical components
- Assist in PLC monitoring, basic programming support, HMI systems, and industrial automation activities
- Participate in machine commissioning, equipment installation, and electrical modification projects
- Assist in preventive maintenance planning, equipment inspections, and maintenance scheduling
- Support maintenance documentation, electrical drawings, equipment records, and technical reporting
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and production personnel to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency
- Support energy-saving initiatives, electrical safety programs, and continuous improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, company procedures, and environmental requirements
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Power Control Systems, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields
- Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems and power distribution
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, industrial automation, sensors, instrumentation, and control systems is an added advantage
- Familiarity with electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematic diagrams
- Basic knowledge of motors, inverters (VFD), MCC panels, circuit protection devices, and industrial electrical equipment
- Understanding of preventive maintenance concepts and electrical troubleshooting techniques
- Basic knowledge of electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers is preferred
- Good analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
