Tech Pipeline specializes in fixing the operational friction that slows companies down. One of our current projects involves supporting a regional logistics and shipping partner where high volume data movement often outpaces system logic. We do not focus on abstract frameworks or long term strategy: we look at where the records go bad and fix the routing rules that cause the drift.

About the role
Our partner operates a regional logistics and distribution network that relies on complex routing logic and internal approvals to keep cargo moving. As an Associate Data Analyst, you will spend your time identifying precisely where their data flow breaks. This is not a role for high level advisory work. You will be looking at actual system logs and databases to understand why a shipping record does not match a finance report or why a package routing rule is failing to trigger. Because companies often contact us when their tech stack has outgrown their team, your goal is to bridge that gap with concrete technical fixes. This is a permanent, full time position that is conducted fully remote, allowing you to focus on digging into the technical reality of how our partner ships goods across the region.

What you will be doing

• Trace shipping records through various integration points to see where fields are dropping or changing incorrectly.
• Compare data across different sources of truth to investigate why monthly reconciliations are failing in the logistics platform.
• Identify specific routing rules within the ERP that are causing delays in approval chains for regional shipments.
• Document internal data mapping flows so the client team can maintain the system once we finish the project.
• Audit system logs to find the exact moment an automated status update failed to sync with the main dashboard.
• Participate in the live monitoring phase after we implement a fix to ensure the new logic holds up under daily operational stress.
• Draft clear, technical descriptions of why a specific data drift occurred and how the fix addresses the root cause.
• Collaborate with our team to verify that the numbers stay consistent between the warehouse floor and the back office systems.

What we need from you

• Basic familiarity with SQL or similar database querying tools to pull and compare datasets.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to find patterns or errors in large spreadsheets and exported logs.
• Direct and plain communication style with an emphasis on technical accuracy in your writing.
• The patience to look through hundreds of log lines to find a single point of failure in a routing chain.
• A preference for ground truth: you would rather look at the raw data than hear a high level explanation of a problem.
• An organized approach to your work which includes tracking your findings and updating project documentation regularly.
• A functional understanding of how remote collaboration works and the ability to manage your daily tasks without constant oversight.

Helpful background

• Exposure to logistics operations or supply chain management concepts through coursework or internships.
• Experience using Python or basic scripting to automate the cleaning of messy data sets.
• Previous exposure to ERP systems or CRM tools where you had to manage or audit records.
• A degree or certificate in data analysis, information systems, or a related technical field.
