About the role
Internal tools in the logistics sector are often neglected, leading to situations where operators have to cross reference multiple screens or read logs just to find the status of a single shipment. As a Junior UI Engineer, you will focus on building and refining the front end components of these tools. This is a fully remote position where you will help transition a messy collection of dashboards into a single, reliable source of truth. You will not be building marketing sites or flashy animations. Instead, you will be creating clear, functional interfaces that help people make decisions quickly. Your work will directly impact how quickly a logistics coordinator can identify a stuck routing rule or reconcile a billing error before it reaches the customer. This job is about clarity, accuracy, and technical reliability in a remote environment.

What you will be doing

• Building and maintaining reusable UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks like React.
• Collaborating with our back end team to ensure that the data appearing in the UI matches the actual logs and database records.
• Translating basic wireframes and user feedback into functional interfaces for logistics operators.
• Identifying and fixing front end bugs such as broken routing links or inconsistent data displays.
• Writing technical documentation for every component you build so that the client team can maintain the system after we leave.
• Participating in code reviews to learn best practices and ensure the codebase remains clean and readable.
• Testing interfaces across different browsers to make sure shipping coordinators can access tools reliably from any device.
• Adjusting CSS and layout structures to improve the readability of dense logistics data.

What we need from you

• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain your technical choices in writing.
• Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with React or a similar component based front end library.
• An eye for detail and a preference for functional, clean design over purely decorative elements.
• A willingness to ask questions when a requirement is unclear or when you find a bug in the logs.
• Basic understanding of how to use Git for version control and collaborating on code.
• The ability to manage your own schedule and tasks in a fully remote work setting.
• Demonstrated interest in solving practical problems through software projects or personal study.

Helpful background

• Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, or high volume operations role.
• Familiarity with CSS preprocessors or modern styling systems like Tailwind.
• Academic or project based exposure to data visualization and dashboard design.
• Basic knowledge of how APIs work and how to fetch data for a front end application.
