Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Assistant Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for preparing and deploying technical equipment, troubleshooting system issues, and helping maintain our hardware inventory. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a workshop environment, possesses basic networking knowledge, and is comfortable using hand tools to assemble and configure IT hardware and software.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Formal education is not required if you possess the relevant technician experience and a strong willingness to learn on the job.
- Experience: Previous experience in IT support, hardware assembly, or a technical workshop environment is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: * Require basic knowledge of networking (e.g., understanding TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, configuring IP addresses, and troubleshooting basic network connectivity).
- Strong understanding of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows and Linux).
- Familiarity with system testing protocols and software deployment.
- Hands-on Skills: Comfortable using basic hand tools (screwdrivers, drills, cable crimpers) to assemble and mount IT equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy IT equipment (e.g., servers, monitors, UPS units) as required in a workshop setting.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Setup & Workshop Duties
- Assemble, configure, and prepare IT hardware, servers, and related equipment using appropriate hand and power tools in a workshop environment.
- Ensure all equipment is safely and correctly mounted, wired, and physically prepared for deployment.
System Testing & Deployment
- Conduct rigorous pre-deployment testing on systems, hardware, and software to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
- Assist in the rollout, installation, and deployment of technology solutions for end-users or client sites.
Technical Troubleshooting & Support
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
- Provide clear and effective technical support, ensuring minimal downtime for systems and users.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when necessary.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Assist in tracking and maintaining accurate records of IT stock, tools, and spare parts.
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments of new equipment.
- Keep the workshop organized and ensure inventory levels are adequate for upcoming projects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
