Qualifications & Responsibilities:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
• At least 3 years in a leadership role (e.g. Sous Chef, Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager or Central Kitchen Supervisor).
• Experience in catering, banquet operations, central kitchens or hotel kitchens is an advantage.
• Strong leadership and people management skills; passion for coaching and developing kitchen staff.
• Good knowledge of food costing, inventory control and kitchen planning; assist in controlling food costs and kitchen expenses.
• Experience developing or improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ability to standardise recipes and maintain consistent food quality.
• Good understanding of Halal requirements, food safety and hygiene; ensure compliance and equipment maintenance.
• Plan manpower allocation and kitchen schedules; manage daily central kitchen operations, supervise food production and event preparation.
• Monitor stock levels, minimise wastage, manage purchasing and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO).
• Support continuous improvement, workflow and productivity enhancements, and menu development.
• Good communication, planning and problem-solving skills; basic computer skills (familiarity with AI tools is an advantage).
• Able to work independently and under pressure.

Mango Chutney Catering is a growing Halal-certified catering company serving corporate events, weddings and large-scale functions across the Klang Valley. The Central Kitchen Manager will lead and manage the central kitchen operations, build systems and SOPs, develop the kitchen team, control costs and inventory, and ensure consistent, high-quality Halal-compliant food production.
