Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Technician role based at Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur. The Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of hotel facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and seamless experience for guests and colleagues. Key tasks include performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; responding promptly to maintenance requests from guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house; and coordinating with other departments to minimize operational disruptions. The role also involves monitoring building systems, supporting event setup from a technical perspective, maintaining tools and inventories, and adhering to safety, health, and environmental standards. The Technician contributes to delivering high-quality service by keeping the property in optimal working condition and upholding brand and local regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in hotel maintenance, covering basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to perform troubleshooting and minor repairs safely.
• Experience using maintenance tools, equipment, and computer-based maintenance systems, including documenting work orders and following preventive maintenance schedules.
• Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental standards, including safe work practices, emergency procedures, and compliance with local regulations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with engineering, housekeeping, front office, and other hotel departments.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Previous experience in hotel engineering, building maintenance, or a similar facilities role is highly beneficial.
• Relevant technical or vocational certification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or building services is an advantage.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations.
