Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and recover complex downtime issues for test equipment, including Testcell, Tester, Bagger, VDCS, and Conveyor systems, with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience leading and supporting Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, enhance OEE, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Testcell yield issues to maintain product quality, throughput, and equipment stability.
  • Conduct detailed investigations for quality incidents related to test equipment, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform product conversions, equipment setup, calibration, and optimization to support various production and engineering requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIVs using tools such as KPOV database, OEE tracking, Maintenance Logs, and Digital Preventive Maintenance systems to identify trends and drive equipment improvement actions.
  • Drive and support equipment upgrades, automation improvements, reliability enhancement, and continuous improvement projects to improve equipment performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Act as a technical trainer and mentor for test equipment, supporting upskilling and knowledge transfer activities within the team.
  • Perform equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and checklist verification in accordance with standard operating procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Support engineers in daily technical activities, machine evaluations, qualifications, and special projects.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking and troubleshooting capability in identifying complex equipment issues and making effective technical decisions under high-pressure production conditions.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and observation skills to identify abnormalities, equipment degradation, and potential failure indicators early.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new equipment, technologies, and manufacturing processes with minimal guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, documentation practices, ESD requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements, and cleanroom protocols.

REQUIRED:

  • Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related field).
  • 4-5 years’ working experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Proven experience independently troubleshooting and recovering complex downtime issues on automated test equipment, including Test cell, Tester, Bagger, VDCS, Conveyor, robotics, and integrated automation systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic troubleshooting, including AC/DC systems, three-phase power, relays, sensors, drives, power supplies, safety circuits, and control panels.
  • Strong expertise in mechanical systems, including precision alignment, motors, bearings, actuators, gear assemblies, conveyors, pumps, compressors, and motion control systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including regulators, valves, cylinders, vacuum systems, flow controls, and pressure diagnostics.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, P&ID drawings, mechanical assembly drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Proven capability in root cause analysis, failure analysis, corrective action implementation, and long-term issue prevention.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIV/KPOV monitoring, OEE improvement, downtime analysis, and equipment performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in mentoring junior technicians, conducting technical training, and driving technical upskilling initiatives.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and provide technical guidance during critical equipment escalations.
  • Proficiency in using MS Windows Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting and documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment (Lockout/Tagout, PPE usage).

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with PLC basics and troubleshooting automation/controls.
  • Exposure to preventive and predictive maintenance tools
  • Experience with Test & Measurement equipment
  • Added advantage for candidates with hands-on experience in PCB repair and electronic circuit troubleshooting, including the use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, schematic interpretation and components replacements.

SKILLS:

  • Technical Expertise – Strong hands-on ability to perform maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on industrial machinery.
  • Troubleshooting – Logical fault isolation and problem-solving skills for mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Tool & Instrument Proficiency – Skilled in the use of multimeters, alignment tools, torque wrenches, calipers, oscilloscope, function generator and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Communication – Ability to explain technical findings clearly to colleagues, engineers, and supervisors.
  • Safety Awareness – Knowledge and practice of safe work procedures in industrial settings.
  • Teamwork – Effective collaborator across production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Adaptability – Capable of handling emergencies, unexpected breakdowns, and evolving technologies.
  • Continuous Learning – Willingness to learn new machines, processes, and emerging automation technologies.
