Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Test & Assembly Engineer to lead the assembly, integration, testing, and production readiness of RF and electronic systems. The successful candidate will work closely with RF, Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineers to ensure products can be assembled consistently, tested efficiently, and manufactured with high quality.
This role is highly practical and requires someone who enjoys building products, troubleshooting hardware, developing work instructions, and mentoring technicians to improve production capability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Product Assembly & Integration
Assemble RF electronic products, prototypes, and production units.
Perform cable assembly, connector termination, crimping, soldering, and mechanical integration.
Assemble RF coaxial cables, harnesses, power cables, and communication cables.
Ensure products are assembled according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
Identify assembly issues and provide practical design-for-assembly (DFA) feedback to engineering teams.

- Testing & Validation
Execute functional, electrical, RF, and system-level testing.
Perform troubleshooting on assembly failures using systematic root cause analysis.
Operate laboratory equipment such as:
Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter, Power Supply,
Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Signal Generator
Record test results and maintain production test records.
Support engineering validation, pilot builds, FAT, and production acceptance testing.

- Production Readiness
Develop assembly work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Develop test procedures and production checklists.
Design or recommend assembly fixtures, test jigs, and production tools.
Support new product introduction (NPI) and production transfer.
Improve assembly efficiency and reduce manufacturing defects.

- Technician Development
Train junior engineer & technicians on:
Cable assembly, Crimping techniques, IPC-compliant soldering
Mechanical assembly, RF connector handling
ESD best practices, Inspection standards
Certify technician competency before independent production work.
Continuously improve technician skill levels and workmanship quality.

- Quality & Continuous Improvement
Support root cause investigations for production failures.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Work closely with QA to improve product quality and process consistency.
Ensure compliance with assembly standards and documentation.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualitification
IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) or Certified IPC Trainer (CIT).
IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification for cable and wire harness assembly.
IPC J-STD-001 certification.
Experience working with RF systems operating from MHz to GHz frequencies.
Experience with environmental testing, burn-in, and production validation.
Knowledge of ESD control and IPC workmanship standards.

Experience:

5–8 years of hands-on experience in electronic product assembly and testing.
Experience assembling RF, communication, or embedded electronic products.
Experience supporting prototype builds and NPI.
Experience troubleshooting hardware failures to component level.

Skillsets:

Excellent soldering skills for through-hole and SMT rework.
Strong cable assembly and wire harness fabrication experience.
Experience with coaxial connectors such as SMA, N-Type, TNC, BNC, MMCX, MCX, or similar.
Familiarity with RF test equipment and electronic measurement instruments.
Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
