We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operation Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hospital food service contract at Hospital Serdang. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, maintaining service quality, managing manpower, ensuring compliance with hospital and company standards, and achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the overall daily operations of the hospital food service.
• Ensure all meal preparation, trayline, food distribution, and kitchen operations run smoothly and according to schedule.
• Lead, supervise, coach, and evaluate supervisors, chefs, catering officers, and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, company policies, food safety, HACCP, Halal requirements, and Ministry of Health guidelines.
• Monitor food quality, patient satisfaction, hygiene, sanitation, and service standards.
• Plan manpower deployment, staff scheduling, and workforce productivity.
• Conduct regular operational audits and inspections to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
• Investigate operational issues, customer complaints, and non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare operational reports, performance analysis, KPI reports, incident reports, and management presentations.
• Manage inventory, purchasing coordination, and cost control to minimize wastage.
• Work closely with the hospital management, dietitians, and other stakeholders to ensure service excellence.
• Lead recruitment, staff development, coaching, disciplinary matters, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health requirements.
• Coordinate emergency response and contingency planning for operational disruptions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Nutrition, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in food service, catering, hospitality, healthcare, or hospital operations.
• Experience managing large teams and multi-department operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Halal standards, food safety, and quality management systems.
• Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Willing to work in a hospital environment and respond to operational emergencies when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing outsourced hospital catering services.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Health (MOH) hospital food service requirements.
• Experience in KPI management, budgeting, and contract management.
• Possession of HACCP, Food Handler, Halal, or related professional certifications is an advantage.
