Role Description
We are currently seeking Project Manager to support our commercial projects in Malaysia. The Project Manager will oversee end-to-end project lifecycles, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders. Daily responsibilities include monitoring progress against milestones, managing budgets and timelines, preparing status reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves close collaboration with expediting and logistics functions to secure timely delivery of materials and services, as well as coordinating inspections to maintain quality and safety. The Project Manager will also support risk identification and mitigation, lead project meetings, and drive continuous improvement in project processes and outcomes.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Project Management skills, including planning, execution, stakeholder coordination, and risk management.
- Candidates should possess Expeditor and Expediting skills to manage procurement follow-ups, vendor coordination, and timely delivery of project materials.
- Candidates should possess Inspection skills to oversee site checks, verify work quality, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Candidates should possess Logistics Management skills to coordinate transportation, storage, and flow of materials and equipment.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience managing construction, mixed-use, or commercial projects in Malaysia or Southeast Asia is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with clients.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar) is beneficial.
Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Management
- Lead the overall planning and execution of assigned projects from inception to completion
- Develop and manage project programmes, timelines, and key milestones
- Define project scope, deliverables, and resource requirements
- Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with approved schedules and budgets
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
2. Project Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
- Oversee day-to-day project activities and ensure works are carried out as planned
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Manage site coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines
- Resolve technical and operational issues in a timely manner
3. Contract & Commercial Management
- Ensure project delivery complies with contractual obligations and scope of work
- Monitor contractor performance, progress claims, and variations
- Review and manage variation orders (VO) and extension of time (EOT) submissions
- Track project costs and support budget control and cost management
- Coordinate with procurement and commercial teams on contractor appointments and evaluations
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, CIDB requirements, and project standards
- Monitor implementation of QA/QC procedures and ensure quality workmanship
- Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
- Conduct site inspections and ensure timely closure of defects and non-conformances
5. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on project matters
- Manage relationships with consultants, contractors, and authorities
- Lead progress meetings, coordination meetings, and technical discussions
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely updates to clients and senior management
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and review project reports, including progress, risks, and financial status
- Monitor project KPIs, timelines, and deliverables
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping across all project stages
- Highlight delays, risks, and issues with proposed mitigation plans
- Ensure timely submission of reports to management and clients
7. Team Leadership & Support
- Lead and guide project teams including Site Managers, Engineers, and Coordinators
- Provide direction, support, and performance oversight to team members
- Foster collaboration and effective communication across all project stakeholders
- Support team development and ensure alignment with project objectives
