Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced construction general foreman to oversee and coordinate daily site operations for building and civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications, quality standards, and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
This role requires strong leadership skills, practical construction knowledge, and the ability to manage workers, subcontractors, and site resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities, including rebar works, formwork, concreting, lifting operations, and general site works.
- Plan and allocate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to meet project timelines.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, method statements, and work instructions.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and WSH requirements.
- Monitor site progress, productivity, workmanship, and material usage.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure unsafe conditions or defects are promptly rectified.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve site issues.
- Prepare daily progress reports and report any site delays, risks, or operational issues.
- Verify workers' attendance and approve timesheets for payroll processing.
- Lead and motivate site workers to maintain high standards of safety, productivity, and discipline.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of reinforcement works, formwork systems, concreting, and general construction activities.
- Experience supervising multinational construction workers.
- Ability to read construction drawings and coordinate site operations effectively.
- Overseas or Middle East construction experience is an advantage.
- Physically fit and willing to work in outdoor construction environments.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, night shifts, and public holidays when required.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
