JOB SUMMARY:
The Director is responsible for ensuring the effective management of academic programmes, student recruitment, and student administration at the Learning Centre in accordance with the University's policies, procedures, and performance targets.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the Learning Centre's financial performance by achieving student recruitment and retention targets while optimising available resources.
- Develop and implement marketing and student recruitment initiatives within the assigned region in line with the University's policies and guidelines.
- Enhance student retention through excellent customer service, meaningful student engagement activities, and initiatives that strengthen the student experience.
- Ensure the smooth delivery of academic operations, including student admissions and registration, tutorial scheduling, assessments, and examinations.
- Provide academic counselling and serve as a tutor when required.
- Ensure tutorials are effectively planned and delivered by coordinating schedules, working with Headquarters to appoint qualified tutors, and managing tutor performance.
- Oversee the secure and efficient administration of examinations, ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality and compliance.
- Manage the overall administration of the Learning Centre, ensuring facilities, equipment, maintenance, cleanliness, and workplace safety are maintained to a high standard.
- Oversee financial matters with integrity, ensuring prudent expenditure and strict compliance with University policies and procedures.
- Lead, coach, and develop Learning Centre staff to maximise performance and achieve organisational objectives.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of the Learning Centre buildings, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and well maintained.
- Ensure tenants comply with lease agreements, rental payments, and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Management from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
- Sarawakian or Sabahan
- Minimum 7 years of experience in sales, business development, higher education management, academic administration, or a similar leadership role.
- Experience in student recruitment, student services, academic operations, and centre management.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
- Proven ability to achieve recruitment targets and drive organisational performance.
- Good understanding of higher education policies, quality assurance, and academic governance.
- Experience in managing budgets, financial planning, and operational resources.
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, tutors, industry partners, and external stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and digital learning platforms.
