About the Role
The Lab Supervisor oversees daily laboratory operations, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient testing activities. This role leads a team of technicians, maintains compliance with quality and safety standards, manages laboratory resources and equipment, drives process improvements, and supports troubleshooting, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily laboratory operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and timely turnaround of test results.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, and resources to support testing and operational requirements.
- Monitor laboratory performance and drive continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Troubleshoot testing, equipment, and workflow issues with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operational.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and laboratory documentation.
- Train, coach, and supervise laboratory staff on testing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Drive root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for laboratory issues and non-conformances.
- Review test results, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare laboratory performance reports and support audits, new test implementation, and laboratory improvement projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Industrial, Chemical, or related fields).
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics, PCB, precision engineering, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, process control, production operations, yield improvement, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in root cause analysis, CAPA, process qualification, and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 6S, SPC, FMEA, DOE, or Six Sigma is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data analysis.
