Our client is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to provide technology support within a fast-paced High Frequency Trading (HFT), or hedge fund environment. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional end-user support to traders, portfolio managers, quants, researchers, and executive stakeholders, ensuring maximum uptime across mission-critical trading systems and desktop infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and remote desktop support for traders, portfolio managers, and business users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Support Windows desktop environments, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Set up, configure, and maintain user workstations and multi-monitor trading desk setups.
- Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Teams, Outlook, and related technologies.
- Manage user onboarding, offboarding, and access requests.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain desktop applications and security tools.
- Liaise with infrastructure, networking, and application support teams to resolve complex issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, requests, and procedures.
- Provide timely support for critical trading and business applications.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Desktop Support experience within a High Frequency Trading (HFT), or Hedge Fund or similar environments.
- Proven experience supporting front-office trading users in a fast-paced financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and desktop hardware support.
- Experience supporting trading floor technology, including multi-monitor workstation environments.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with financial applications such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv/Eikon, or similar trading platforms is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to business-critical incidents.
- Experience with IT ticketing systems and service management processes.
- Relevant Microsoft or IT certifications are advantageous.
