Manufacturing Technician
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating automated manufacturing equipment to meet production targets while performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, product quality, and safety. This role also supports process buyoff, equipment changeovers, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The responsibilities align with operator care, maintenance activities, and machine buyoff practices described in internal work instruction and equipment buyoff materials.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Operate manufacturing equipment according to approved work instructions and SOPs.
- Monitor machine performance, product quality, and process stability during production.
- Perform machine startup, shutdown, product changeover, and recovery activities.
- Respond to equipment alarms and minor process disruptions to minimize downtime.
Equipment Maintenance
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities.
- Perform unscheduled/corrective maintenance to restore equipment to operational condition.
- Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Support predictive maintenance initiatives and equipment reliability improvements.
Process Buyoff & Validation
- Perform process buyoff after maintenance, changeovers, and equipment interventions.
- Verify machine settings, safety interlocks, sensors, tooling, and critical process parameters.
- Conduct quality checks and confirm equipment meets production readiness requirements.
- Support machine acceptance, commissioning, and equipment buyoff activities.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
- Perform routine safety interlock checks and equipment condition inspections.
- Identify and report abnormalities, defects, and potential safety risks.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Continuous Improvement
- Support OEE, yield, downtime reduction, and productivity improvement projects.
- Participate in TPM, autonomous maintenance, and Kaizen activities.
- Provide feedback on equipment performance and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Fresh graduate or 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, or equipment maintenance environments preferred.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems.
- Ability to interpret work instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical drawings.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; candidates with relevant experience in manufacturing, automation, or equipment maintenance will have an added advantage.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,300.00 per month
