Project Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise decontamination and chemical cleaning projects from mobilisation through project completion.
- Review client specifications, P&IDs, isometric drawings, equipment data sheets, and work scopes to develop project execution plans.
- Prepare project schedules, manpower plans, equipment requirements, chemical consumption estimates, and method statements.
- Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget.
Technical Responsibilities
- Develop and review chemical cleaning procedures for process systems, pipelines, heat exchangers, boilers, condensers, pressure vessels, storage tanks, reactors, and associated equipment.
- Select appropriate cleaning chemicals, inhibitors, neutralising agents, passivation chemicals, and flushing media based on metallurgy and contamination type.
- Monitor cleaning parameters including flow rate, temperature, pressure, pH, conductivity, iron content, hydrocarbon content, and chemical concentration.
- Provide technical support during decontamination, flushing, passivation, neutralisation, and waste handling activities.
- Ensure chemical cleaning activities comply with applicable engineering standards, client specifications, and project requirements.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)
- Ensure all work complies with company HSE policies, client requirements, and applicable oil and gas regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), toolbox talks, and permit-to-work compliance.
- Monitor the safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- Ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.
Project Coordination
- Liaise with clients, contractors, operations personnel, inspection teams, and third-party service providers.
- Attend project meetings and provide engineering updates, technical recommendations, and progress reports.
- Coordinate with procurement for chemicals, pumps, hoses, filtration systems, temporary piping, tanks, and other project equipment.
- Supervise subcontractors and site personnel to ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare technical proposals, work procedures, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and project documentation.
- Produce daily, weekly, and final project reports detailing progress, chemical usage, operational parameters, safety performance, and project outcomes.
- Maintain accurate project records, quality documentation, and completion dossiers.
- Support project close-out, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
