JOB OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- OPERATIONS & SUPERVISION
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned dredging vessels and crew.
- Ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and within the approved schedule and operational requirements.
- Monitor crew performance and provide guidance to ensure operational excellence.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and logbooks for vessels and project personnel.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable maritime regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of vessels, equipment, and tools to ensure they are safe and fit for operation.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure all crew comply with safety procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and provide immediate assistance during onboard incidents, including arranging medical support when required.
VESSEL & EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT
- Ensure vessels are adequately supplied with the necessary equipment, tools, materials, and consumables for safe and efficient operations.
- Coordinate routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
- Monitor the condition of vessel machinery, equipment, and operational assets, and report maintenance requirements promptly.
CREW MANAGEMENT
- Ensure each vessel is manned with qualified, medically fit, competent, and experienced seafarers in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
- Supervise crew attendance, work allocation, discipline, and welfare.
- Coordinate crew mobilisation, demobilisation, and scheduling as required.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and guidance to crew members to improve competency and performance.
DOCUMENTATION & ADMINISTRATION
- Maintain accurate records relating to crew attendance, vessel operations, maintenance, inspections, and safety activities.
- Prepare and submit operational and incident reports as required.
- Ensure all statutory certificates, licences, and crew documentation are valid and up to date.
OTHER DUTIES
1. Perform any other duties assigned by Management related to vessel and crew operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Diploma or Certificate in Marine Engineering, Nautical Studies, Maritime Operations or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience in the dredging, marine, offshore, or maritime industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Malaysian maritime safety regulations, vessel operations, and crew management.
- Skills: Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- IT Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office and report preparation.
- Languages: Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. (Optional addition)
- Willing to travelling- working at project site
Working days & hours:
Mondays to Saturdays - 08.00 am to 05.00 pm
