Job Summary:
As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting with the preparation and cooking of dishes. You will work closely with our talented chefs, gaining valuable experience and honing your culinary skills.

Due to visa limitations, only locals will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation

• Assist in preparing and cooking dishes according to restaurant standards and recipes

Kitchen Maintenance

• Ensure workstations and kitchen equipments are clean and sanitised
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations
• Assist in scheduling and delegating task to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Support Senior Chefs

• Work under the guidance of Chef de Partie and/or Demi Chef de Partie
• Assist in plating dishes as per restaurant standards
• Learn cooking techniques and kitchen procedures

Inventory & Organisation

• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries
• Monitor ingredient stock level and report shortages

Teamwork & Adaptability

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to work shifts (mornings, evenings, weekends)
• Follow instructions from kitchen staff
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion size
• Handle ingredients properly, including portioning, marinating, and storing
• Work efficiently during peak hours to meet customer demands

Qualifications

• SPM or similar certificate

Experience

• Prior kitchen experience (internship/apprenticeship) is a plus

Skills

• Computer literate (MS Words)
• Food safety knowledge, HACCP, sanitation, and personal hygiene
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for food
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,100.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
