Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Naphtha Trader to join our Trading team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the physical Naphtha Trading portfolio, optimizing feedstock procurement and storage utilization, monitoring market developments, and maximizing trading profitability while maintaining effective risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Commercial Management

• Manage and grow the company's physical naphtha trading portfolio to achieve profitability targets.
• Source and procure feedstock at competitive prices through effective market analysis and trading strategies.
• Optimize cargo movements and storage utilization to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure healthy inventory and storage levels to support business operations.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, supply-demand fundamentals, and industry developments to identify trading opportunities.
• Develop forward market views and recommend trading strategies based on market intelligence.
• Expand trading activities into new markets and regions where appropriate.

Risk Management

• Work closely with the Risk Management team to ensure trading activities comply with the company's risk management policies.
• Utilize derivatives and hedging instruments prudently to manage price exposure and minimize financial risks.
• Ensure trading positions remain within approved risk limits.

Operations & Coordination

• Monitor monthly trade execution and ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled efficiently.
• Optimize cargo scheduling and logistics to maximize operational effectiveness.

Market Intelligence & Business Development

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global naphtha market developments, refinery operations, freight markets, and geopolitical events affecting the energy sector.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, brokers, ship owners, and other key industry stakeholders.
• Represent the company professionally and strengthen Wanhua's reputation within the global trading community.
• Guide and collaborate with the Market Analysis team by identifying key market questions and analytical priorities.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in Oil or Naphtha Trading.
• Good understanding of the physical naphtha market and trading operations.
• Experience in cargo optimization and supply chain management.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment.

Salary

Monthly Salary: SGD 8,000 – SGD 10,000 (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
