Head of Shared Services based in Kuala Lumpur area.

Our client, a well-established multinational organisation, is seeking an experienced Shared Services Centre Manager to lead its Malaysia SSC operation. This role oversees a team of approximately 20 employees across Finance, Customer Service, and Administration, while ensuring effective delivery of finance operations, compliance, people management, and site administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Malaysia Shared Services Centre, including Finance Team Leads across AP, AR, Collections and GL.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of finance operations and support business continuity during leadership absences.
• Oversee statutory compliance, including tax filings, VAT submissions, audits, and financial statement preparation.
• Review monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and related-party balances.
• Drive process improvements, standardisation initiatives, and maintenance of operational documentation.
• Manage recruitment, employee development, performance reviews, salary recommendations, and overall team engagement.
• Coordinate payroll administration with external service providers.
• Support local HR, IT, facilities, licensing, insurance, and office administration activities.
• Manage SSC budgeting, cost control, billings, management reporting, and financial planning activities.
• Act as the key liaison with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and external stakeholders.
• Participate in leadership discussions and support strategic projects across the business.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline. Professional accounting qualification is highly preferred.
• Proven management experience within Shared Services, BPO, or a similar multinational environment.
• Strong background in GL, financial reporting, management accounting, business analysis, or audit.
• Experience managing large teams, including multiple team leaders.
• Excellent Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Hands-on leadership style with a positive, flexible, and solutions-oriented mindset.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to Microsoft Navision.
• Experience within multinational organisations.
• International or regional working exposure.
