About theRole

We are looking for ahands-on Product Engineer–API Platform Development & Architecturewith 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deliveringsecure, scalable API platforms and cloud-native digital products.

This role will beresponsible for the architecture, engineering, and implementation of enterpriseAPI platforms supporting internal systems, partner integrations, telecomnetwork APIs, and digital services. The successful candidate will work closelywith Product Managers, Enterprise Architects, Software Engineers, DevSecOpsteams, Security teams, and external partners to transform business requirementsinto production-ready API products and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

APIPlatform Engineering & Architecture

·        Design and develop enterprise-grade APIplatforms, reusable API services, and digital products from concept throughproduction.

·        Define API architecture standards, governance,versioning, lifecycle management, and developer experience.

·        Design secure, scalable, highly available APIecosystems supporting internal, partner, and external consumers.

·        Develop API-first architectures using REST,OpenAPI specifications, GraphQL (where applicable), and event-drivenintegration patterns.

·        Define API security architecture includingauthentication, authorization, rate limiting, encryption, throttling, and APIprotection.

·        Develop reusable API frameworks, SDKs,accelerators, and reference architectures to improve engineering productivity.

·        Drive API productization and adoption acrossenterprise platforms.

Backend& API Development

• Design and develop RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservices using Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
• Develop scalable cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and container-based microservices.
• Build event-driven services using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
• Develop enterprise integration services connecting cloud platforms, enterprise applications, OSS/BSS platforms, and external partner systems.
• Implement API observability, logging, monitoring, tracing, and performance optimization.

EnterpriseIntegration & API Platforms

• Design and implement API platforms supporting:
• Enterprise APIs
• Partner APIs
• Internal Developer APIs
• Telecom Network APIs
• Integrate with API Management platforms such as:
• Apigee
• Kong
• MuleSoft
• Azure API Management
• AWS API Gateway
• Build CI/CD pipelines for automated API deployment and lifecycle management.
• Enable API developer portals, documentation, onboarding, and governance.

Telecom APISolutions

Thecandidate will work on development of the below API solutions as aligned withGSMA/CAMARA API initiatives

·        Develop and integrate telecom API solutionsincluding:

o    Number Verify

o    SIM Swap

o    Device Location

o    Carrier Billing

o    Quality on Demand

o    eSIM

o    Authentication APIs

·        Support integration with:

o    GSMA Open Gateway

o    CAMARA APIs

o    TM Forum Open APIs

·        Develop secure API services supportingenterprise and consumer digital products.

Cloud-NativeEngineering

• Design and develop cloud-native applications for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Build resilient microservices-based solutions using container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to implement Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Apply secure-by-design principles across the software development lifecycle.

ProductEngineering & Innovation

• Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures and API solutions.
• Build MVPs and evolve them into production-ready digital products.
• Evaluate API technologies, integration platforms, and engineering tools.
• Develop reusable engineering assets, integration frameworks, and reference implementations.
• Support API platform modernization and digital transformation initiatives.

RequiredQualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in API platform engineering, backend development, software engineering, or enterprise integration.
• Strong experience designing enterprise API architectures and integration platforms.
• Hands-on development experience using one or more of the following:
• Java
• Python
• Go
• Node.js
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservices.
• Good understanding of:
• REST APIs
• OpenAPI Specifications
• GraphQL (preferred)
• OAuth2
• OpenID Connect
• JWT
• API Security
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerized applications, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

PreferredQualifications

• Experience with API Management platforms such as Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, Azure API Management, or AWS API Gateway.
• Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
• Exposure to GSMA Open Gateway, CAMARA APIs, and TM Forum Open APIs.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud and multi-cloud deployment models.
• Experience implementing API governance, API lifecycle management, and developer portals.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), GitOps, and DevSecOps practices.
