Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the inspection and testing of incoming, in-process, and outgoing products to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications. This role manages supplier and customer quality matters, develops and maintains quality standards, implements process controls, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance product quality while supporting the growth, vision, and values of Indium Corporation.

RESPONSIBILITY


Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Implement Quality Engineering activities with cross-functional teams to meet quality objectives in alignment with the Quality Management System (QMS) and documented procedures.

  • Develop, document, and update QMS procedures by incorporating incidents, corrective actions, and improvements in compliance with ISO and IATF standards.

  • Lead and coordinate internal, supplier, and customer audits in accordance with ISO and IATF requirements.

  • Establish, monitor, and maintain quality metrics for manufacturing processes.

  • Investigate, recommend, install, and maintain quality testing and inspection equipment.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of quality results.

Customer Quality Management

  • Review and evaluate customer specifications and requirements to ensure product and process compliance.

  • Analyze, compile, and report customer quality metrics, complaints, and issues.

  • Facilitate and support customer audits, including self-assessment audits.

  • Ensure timely communication and implementation of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) initiatives per customer requirements.

  • Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new product introductions.

Supplier Quality Management

  • Conduct regular supplier quality audits to ensure compliance with company manufacturing and production standards.

  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers to resolve quality issues and promote continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions where necessary.

Process Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with technical support, manufacturing engineers, and operations teams to identify root causes of quality excursions (incoming, in-process, outgoing) and implement corrective actions using 8D methodology.

  • Review and maintain Process FMEAs and Control Plans, incorporating data from Design of Experiments (DOE) and risk analysis.

  • Reduce process variation using DOE and statistical analysis tools to implement data-driven corrective actions.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce operating costs, improve yields, and enhance quality performance.

  • Collaborate internally and across sites to support quality improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, in any Engineering, Chemistry and/ or Quality discipline

  • At least 3 years of working experience in a technical/ Quality position

  • 5Knowledge of SPC, APQP/ PPAP, FMEA and/ or Six Sigma methodologies

  • Proficient in MS Office, Minitab/ JMP, ERP System and knowledge in DOE/ data analysis

  • ASQ Quality Engineer, Advanced Six Sigma Certification and Lean Manufacturing experiences is preferable.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
