Structure Hull Engineer
This position is responsible for developing and delivering Hull Structure engineering solutions for offshore floating facilities (FPSO, FSO, FLNG, etc.), ensuring designs are safe, fit-for-purpose, robust, and cost-effective throughout project execution and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Hull Structure engineering deliverables for offshore floating facilities.
- Establish Hull Structure design philosophies, Basis of Design (BoD), functional specifications, and scopes of work (SOW) for engineering subcontractors.
- Deliver engineering work in accordance with project schedules and milestones.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate design risks and engineering shortfalls.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout design, construction, installation, and operational phases.

Required Experience
- 0-5 years – Junior Engineers
- 5-10 years – Intermediate Engineer
- 10-15 years – Senior Engineers
- Prior experience in Hull Structure and appurtenance system engineering for floating offshore facilities.
- New-build hull design, and/or
- Conversion of oil tankers into FPSO, FSO, FLNG, or similar facilities.
Hands-on experience with engineering and structural analysis software such as:
- SESAM Genie
- SACS
- FEMAP/NASTRAN
- ABS ISE/TSA
- MARS 2000
- VERIStar HULL
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Structural, Civil, or related discipline).
Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as at least a Graduate Engineer, or equivalent recognized professional body.
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PEng) with Practising Certificate.
