## 1. JOB SUMMARY
The Architectural Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring all architectural and finishing works at the construction site. The position ensures that architectural works are executed in accordance with approved architectural drawings, specifications, method statements, project requirements, quality standards, approved materials, and the project schedule.
The Architectural Supervisor shall coordinate closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Architect, Consultants, Site Engineers, QA/QC personnel, Safety personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and workers to ensure that all architectural works are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
## 2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
### A. Architectural Site Supervision
* Supervise and monitor daily architectural and finishing works at the project site.
* Ensure all architectural works are carried out in accordance with approved architectural drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
* Supervise works including but not limited to:
* Brickwork and blockwork
* Plastering and rendering
* Skim coating
* Painting and decorative finishes
* Tiling and floor finishes
* Waterproofing works
* Doors, frames, and ironmongery
* Windows and glazing works
* Ceiling works
* Wall finishes and cladding
* Façade and external architectural works
* Kitchen and sanitary fittings
* Architectural metal and aluminium works
* Other internal and external finishing works
* Ensure proper work sequencing and coordination between different architectural trades.
* Monitor workmanship and ensure works are completed according to the required standards and approved details.
* Identify and report any discrepancies, defects, or site issues to the Project Manager, Site Manager, or relevant personnel.
### B. Drawing and Technical Coordination
* Study and interpret approved architectural drawings, details, specifications, and schedules.
* Ensure construction works are executed according to the latest approved drawings and revisions.
* Coordinate with the Architect, Consultants, Engineers, and relevant project personnel regarding architectural details and technical matters.
* Identify discrepancies or conflicts between architectural drawings and site conditions and report them for clarification.
* Assist in resolving technical and coordination issues related to architectural works.
* Ensure approved shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups, and samples are available before commencement of relevant works.
* Monitor and ensure that all architectural works comply with approved details and specifications.
### C. Quality Control and Inspection
* Monitor the quality of architectural workmanship and finishing works.
* Ensure all materials used on site are approved and comply with project specifications.
* Conduct regular inspections of ongoing and completed architectural works.
* Coordinate inspections with the Architect, Consultants, Client, QA/QC personnel, and relevant parties.
* Assist in preparing Inspection Requests / Request for Inspection (RFI) for completed works.
* Monitor and follow up on inspection comments, defects, and non-conformance issues.
* Ensure all defective or non-compliant works are rectified promptly.
* Monitor and control rework to minimise material wastage and project delays.
* Ensure completed works are properly protected from damage caused by subsequent construction activities.
### D. Subcontractor and Manpower Coordination
* Supervise and coordinate architectural subcontractors and workers.
* Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower, productivity, and daily work progress.
* Allocate work areas and coordinate daily activities according to project priorities.
* Ensure subcontractors follow approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and project requirements.
* Monitor subcontractor workmanship and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
* Coordinate with subcontractors to resolve site issues and prevent clashes between different trades.
* Report manpower shortages, productivity issues, and subcontractor performance concerns to the Project Manager or Site Manager.
### E. Material and Resource Management
* Monitor the availability and delivery of architectural materials required for site works.
* Ensure only approved materials are used for construction.
* Check delivered materials against approved samples, specifications, and delivery documents where required.
* Coordinate with the site storekeeper, procurement team, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding material requirements.
* Monitor proper storage, handling, and protection of architectural materials.
* Minimise material wastage and damage on site.
* Ensure materials are available in accordance with the construction programme.
### F. Progress Monitoring
* Monitor daily and weekly progress of architectural works.
* Ensure architectural activities are completed according to the approved project programme.
* Identify potential delays and constraints affecting architectural works.
* Report progress, delays, manpower issues, material shortages, and site constraints to the Project Manager or Site Manager.
* Assist in preparing short-term work plans and recovery plans when required.
* Coordinate work activities to ensure architectural works are ready for subsequent trades and handover.
### G. Safety and Environmental Requirements
* Ensure architectural works are carried out in compliance with project safety requirements and applicable Malaysian occupational safety and health requirements.
* Ensure workers and subcontractors use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Maintain good housekeeping within work areas.
* Ensure safe access and working conditions are maintained at all times.
* Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents, and hazards to the relevant Safety personnel.
* Cooperate with the Safety and Health Officer / Site Safety Supervisor in implementing site safety procedures.
* Ensure proper handling and disposal of construction waste generated from architectural works.
### H. Documentation and Reporting
* Prepare and maintain daily records of architectural work activities.
* Record daily manpower and subcontractor attendance where required.
* Maintain records of work progress, material deliveries, inspections, defects, and rectification works.
* Take progress photographs and maintain proper photographic records.
* Assist in maintaining approved drawings, shop drawings, material approvals, samples, and relevant site documents.
* Assist in preparing progress reports and updates for architectural works.
* Maintain proper records of site instructions, inspection comments, and corrective actions.
### I. Coordination and Handover
* Coordinate architectural works with Civil & Structural and M&E works to avoid conflicts and delays.
* Ensure architectural works are completed and inspected before proceeding to subsequent activities.
* Assist in internal inspections, pre-handover inspections, and final inspections.
* Coordinate rectification of outstanding defects and snagging works.
* Assist in preparing areas for testing, inspection, and handover.
* Ensure all architectural defects and outstanding works are properly closed before project handover.
## 3. AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
The Architectural Supervisor is responsible for the proper supervision, coordination, quality, and progress of architectural works under their assigned area.
The Architectural Supervisor shall immediately report any major technical issue, quality concern, safety risk, construction delay, drawing discrepancy, or non-conformance to the Project Manager, Site Manager, Architect, or relevant person in charge.
The Architectural Supervisor shall not proceed with works that require clarification or approval until the necessary instruction, drawing, or approval has been obtained from the authorised project personnel.
## 4. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum qualification of *SPM / SKM / Certificate / Diploma in Architecture, Building, Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field**.
Minimum *2–3 years of relevant experience** in architectural or building construction supervision is preferred.
* Experience in architectural finishing works and building construction is an advantage.
* Able to read and understand architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
* Knowledge of architectural construction methods and finishing works.
* Good knowledge of site coordination and construction practices.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to communicate in *Bahasa Malaysia and English**.
* Able to supervise workers and coordinate subcontractors effectively.
* Able to work independently and under pressure.
* Willing to work at project sites and overtime when required.
* Willing to travel or work at different project locations in Malaysia when required.
Possession of a valid *CIDB Construction Personnel Registration / CIDB Green Card**, where applicable.
Relevant *CIDB accreditation or competency certification** may be required or preferred depending on project requirements.
## 5. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI)
* Architectural works completed according to the approved project schedule.
* Compliance with approved architectural drawings, specifications, and method statements.
* Quality of architectural finishes and workmanship.
* Reduction of defects, rework, and material wastage.
* Effective coordination and supervision of architectural subcontractors.
* Timely completion of inspection and rectification works.
* Compliance with site safety and environmental requirements.
* Accurate and timely submission of site records and progress reports.
* Effective coordination with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades.
* Successful completion and handover of architectural works within the required project timeline.
## 6. GENERAL DUTIES
* Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager, Site Manager, Architectural Coordinator, or Management from time to time.
* Comply with all company policies, project procedures, quality requirements, safety requirements, and applicable Malaysian laws and regulations.
* Maintain professional conduct and effective communication with all project stakeholders.
* Support the project team in achieving the required quality, progress, safety, and completion targets.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
