Aida Cafe is an on-campus food and beverage outlet operating inside City University Malaysia, Cyberjaya. We serve a fast-paced student and faculty demographic, focusing on quick-service meals, pastries, and coffee. The outlet operates strictly during university operating hours, matching the academic calendar.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Junior or Senior Commis Chef to support the kitchen team in preparing meals while maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards during the campus peak hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food according to recipes and cafe quality standards.
  • Kitchen Support: Assist the head cook and kitchen team with daily food prep and line operations.
  • Hygiene Control: Ensure proper food handling, labeling, storage, and hygiene practices at all times.
  • Quality Check: Monitor the quality of ingredients and final prepared dishes before serving.
  • Station Maintenance: Operate kitchen equipment safely, report faults, and keep the work area clean.
  • Inventory Assistance: Support stock preparation, unloading, and kitchen inventory duties.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of kitchen or food preparation experience.
  • Skills: Strong cooking skills, knife skills, and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
  • Compliance: Valid Typhoid vaccination certificate and knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Pace: Ability to work efficiently and handle high-volume orders during campus lunch hours.
  • Attitude: Team player with a positive attitude who takes direction well.

Qualifications & Perks

  • Education: SPM, Certificate, or Diploma in Culinary Arts/Hospitality is an advantage.
  • Schedule: Fixed Monday to Friday hours (no weekends, no night shifts).

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
