Job Summary

The Purchasing Executive is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely delivery of raw materials, components, and services required for wire harness manufacturing. This role focuses on maintaining uninterrupted production by managing supplier relationships, negotiating competitive pricing, monitoring inventory requirements, and ensuring purchased materials meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials.
• Generate and process purchase orders based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and production schedules.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance to ensure on-time material availability.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Coordinate closely with Production Planning, Store, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and accounts departments.
• Resolve issues related to material shortages, quality concerns, delivery delays, and supplier non-conformance.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, quotations, and procurement documentation.
• Monitor inventory levels and recommend appropriate purchasing quantities to minimize excess stock while preventing shortages.
• Support new product development by sourcing new materials and identifying qualified suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Analyze purchasing trends and recommend cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare purchasing reports, supplier performance reports, and cost analysis for management.
• Participate in supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the wire harness, automotive, electronics, or electrical manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or similar).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
