Job Summary
The Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV/HVAC) systems. The role requires providing technical support to customers, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and delivering high-quality after-sales service while complying with safety standards and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, and commission air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) according to maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose faults and carry out corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Service various air conditioning systems including:
- Split Unit
- Cassette Unit
- Ceiling Concealed Unit
- Ducted System
- Package Unit
- VRV/VRF Systems
- Chilled Water Systems (if applicable)
- Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, motors, capacitors, contactors, sensors, thermostats, expansion valves, and control boards.
- Conduct refrigerant leak detection, recovery, vacuuming, charging, and pressure testing.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and customer service calls.
- Prepare detailed service reports after each maintenance or repair work.
- Liaise with customers regarding technical issues and provide professional advice.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly maintained.
- Follow all safety procedures, including working at heights and electrical safety requirements.
- Support project installation and commissioning when required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- HVAC Engineering
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- Or related engineering disciplines
Experience
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- 1–2 years of experience in HVAC servicing or maintenance is an advantage.
- Experience with commercial and industrial air conditioning systems is preferred.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Class D driving licence.
- Willing to travel to customer sites throughout Malaysia.
- Able to work overtime, weekends, or during emergency breakdowns when required.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces when necessary.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM2,750.00 per month
