The Assistant Cook supports the Head Chef and kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and presenting food while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety. This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring ingredients and equipment are ready for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef and kitchen staff in preparing and cooking food according to recipes and menu standards.
• Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meats, and other ingredients.
• Measure and portion ingredients accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food supplies and kitchen inventory.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Support food plating and presentation as directed by the Head Chef.
• Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain a clean working environment.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment after use.
• Perform other kitchen-related duties assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
