Specific Responsibilities and Expectations of This Role
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, operating systems, and IT-related services across the organisation.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain servers, including performance monitoring, system updates, backups, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy administration, and ensuring the high availability of critical services.
- Administer, maintain, and support campus-wide network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, internet connectivity, firewall systems, VPN services, network security, and wired and wireless connectivity for staff, students, and visitors.
- Administer and support Google Workspace services, including user account management, email systems, Google Drive, shared drives, security settings, and user support.
- Respond to, document, and resolve IT service requests and incidents in a timely manner while maintaining service standards.
- Perform root cause analysis, develop troubleshooting procedures, and implement preventive measures to minimise recurring technical issues.
- Provide support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, interactive displays, audiovisual equipment, and other IT peripherals.
- Assist with IT procurement activities, including sourcing quotations, evaluating solutions, raising purchase requests, and managing software and hardware renewals.
- Maintain accurate inventories of IT assets, including hardware, software licences, network devices, and related resources.
- Manage user access rights and permissions for systems, applications, network resources, and cloud services.
- Coordinate hardware lifecycle management, including deployment, upgrades, repairs, replacements, secure disposal, and data sanitisation.
- Plan, implement, and support IT infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and technology improvements across the organisation.
- Provide technical support for school events, meetings, presentations, examinations, and other school activities requiring IT services and equipment.
- Provide technical support for boarding facilities, residential operations, network services, and critical IT infrastructure, including participation in an after-hours, weekend, and on-call support rotation within the IT team to ensure continuity of service and a timely response to incidents outside normal working hours.
- Ensure IT systems comply with organisational policies, security requirements, and safeguarding standards.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.
