Role Description The Recovery Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kuala Lumpur, responsible for leading and overseeing debt recovery operations. This role involves managing a team of collection specialists, setting recovery targets, monitoring performance, and providing coaching to ensure effective strategies and ethical practices. The Recovery Manager will analyze portfolios, develop action plans for overdue accounts, conduct negotiations with debtors, and collaborate with clients to align recovery efforts with their expectations. Daily tasks include preparing reports, tracking key metrics, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and implementing process improvements to enhance collection efficiency. The role also requires close coordination with internal departments to resolve account issues and maintain high standards of professionalism and service quality.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising recovery or collection teams and providing performance feedback.
• Proficiency in negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication, with the ability to handle sensitive debtor interactions professionally.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, track KPIs, and develop effective recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of debt collection practices, relevant regulations, and compliance requirements, preferably within the Malaysian financial environment.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple accounts, prioritize tasks, and meet recovery targets and deadlines.
• Comfort with using collection systems, CRM tools, and office software (e.g., Excel, Word, reporting tools) to manage workflows and documentation.
• Ability to work on-site in Kuala Lumpur, maintain confidentiality, and uphold high ethical standards in all recovery activities.
