We are looking for a practical and hands-on Drone Engineer to support our drone operations, surveying projects, and technical systems. This role focuses on drone and sensor troubleshooting, integration, repair, maintenance, and technical support, with opportunities to be involved in drone fabrication and special technical projects as required.

You will work closely with Drone Pilots, GIS & Surveying teams, and clients to ensure drones and payloads are operational, compliant, and ready for field deployment. The role also involves documentation, ISO compliance, and coordination with authorities and stakeholders related to aerial mapping activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and routine maintenance of drones, payloads, and surveying sensors (e.g. cameras, LiDAR, GNSS).
• Support integration and setup of drone systems and sensors for mapping and surveying projects.
• Assist in pre-flight preparation, field deployment, and post-mission checks to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain accurate technical records, including maintenance logs, inventory tracking, and after-sales service documentation.
• Support UAV missions and project execution, including on-site technical assistance when required.
• Assist in preparing technical inputs for proposals and tenders related to drone projects and equipment.
• Work with internal teams to ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal SOPs.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation in line with international standards and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and relevant authorities on matters related to aerial mapping operations.
• Assist in developing basic training materials, manuals, and technical guidelines for internal use and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, such as Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Aeronautical, or Controls Engineering, Computer Science or IT.
• Basic technical knowledge of drones and surveying sensors is an advantage.
• Experience or exposure to drone maintenance, troubleshooting, or field operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with DJI and/or Pixhawk systems is an advantage, but training can be provided.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems (no advanced design work required).
• Comfortable with documentation, record-keeping, and compliance-related tasks.
• Ability to work with ISO procedures and international technical standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to liaise with clients, authorities, and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel for field projects, site work, training, or demonstrations.
• Organized, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Enjoys a mix of office work, documentation, and outdoor field activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
